Cards

This is an archive of all the cards I have made for Aaron. Some of them I came up on my own; and some I got inspiration from other sites. I’m not the artistic type, so some of these came out better than others. I noticed I stepped up my card game during the second year of our relationship. The ones that look nicer are the ones I traced. I preferred making them instead of buying them because it just feels more genuine. Like the time and effort you put into them shows that you really love the person. It comes from the heart ❤

“California Love: From Berkeley to San Diego”

I got the idea about this card from Etsy. There were a lot of cards that had this theme but with other states so I just modified it for our situation. Oddly enough, this card made me grateful that at least we live in the same state and in the same time zone. Personally, this is my favorite.

“I’m Hooked on You”

This was my creation! I did trace the worm and seaweed from different places, but I compiled it! Read more about it here.

“I Love You to the Moon and Back” 

When I ask him how much he loves me, he always says “all the way to the moon and back”. I found this card on Etsy and made it myself. He says this is his favorite card I’ve made for him.

“I CHOOSE YOU!”

As you can see by the flaws in this card, I made it myself. I use to love Pokemon when I was little and Aaron kinda liked it too. I saw this card on Etsy but decided to make it myself. I used water colors and markers to draw it.

“Hey There Karina”

I got the inspiration for this card from my favorite song in the entire universe. I modified the song       “Hey There Delilah” by The Plain White T’s to fit our love story; my boyfriend and I are only 500 miles apart instead of 1,000. You can read more about this in my post “Hey There Karina“.

“Love Birds”

I saw this cute birds card on Etsy and just had to make it myself. It reminded me of the quote from The Notebook, when Noah tells Ali: If you’re a bird…I’m a bird”. Awwwww! Read more about it here.

“Hello My Lover”

This card was a combination of two cards, this one and this one. I had already given him a card with lips on it, and I really liked the thumbs/hearts concept. As you can probably tell, I kinda messed up on the bottom, but he still loved it. I use a typewriter at work for the text (yes we have one of those old typewriters at my job lol).

“You Stole My Heart”

I was inspired by a card I saw on Etsy, a lot of them are valentines day themed but when you’re in love everyday is valentines day! lol So I just bought a bunch of little heart stickers and left one spot missing.

“You Are the King of My Heart”

When I made the “52 Things I Love About You” cards, the pack I got came with 2 decks. The idea came from this Etsy post. The Etsy one is nice, but I would rather make them for him and put my personal touch on it.

“The Most Wonderful Surprise On Earth” 

This is how I told my bf that I was taking him to Disneyland for his birthday! I wish I could’ve just kidnapped him the morning of and surprised him but that just was not possible. So I sent this card to Aaron a few weeks before his birthday so he could choose a date to go and ask for it off.

“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” 

This card was inspired by Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye’s song “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough“. I love this song! I think its a perfect song for couples in LDRs. Its kinds like saying that the distance won’t keep you apart, its very inspiring and upbeat.

“I Miss You Soo Much…It’s unBEARable”

I gave Aaron this card with his Bear Care Package. You can read about it in my post “College Love“.

“I Mustache You A Question”

Idk how we started with the mustache thing but its kinda like a theme in our relationship. Mustache stickers, mustache mugs, mustache lips. Here are a bunch of cards on Etsy.

“You’re the Only Fish In the Sea For Me”

I sent this card with a bag of Swedish Fish candy. I found a on Etsy that inspired this one. Unfortunately the link is no longer available, but you can look at my post “You’re the Only Fish In the Sea For Me” to find a picture of it.

“You Complete Me” 

This is one of the cards that didn’t come out so well. I also got the idea from Etsy (it’s a pretty awesome site, it’s my newest obsession). I gave him this card when I gave him a picture puzzle of us. You can read more about it on my post “We Fit Together Like Pieces Of A Puzzle“.

“Nerd Love”

He is a math nerd so I thought this nerd love math problem was cute. Most cards have the problem filled out already, but I wanted him to solve it on his own lol. You can find it on Etsy. “Kisses Kisses Kisses”

This card was inspired by this Etsy card. I kissed the card 7 times, one time for every month. I think it would’ve been just as cute with one kiss. So if you DIY you can choose.

“Carrie & Big”

This is inspired by one of my favorite shows, Sex and the City. Carrie and Big can be such a cute couple. Like when she gave him a watch engraved “Me and You. Just Us Two”. So I think it was in the first movie when this quote comes up. Another card idea you could do is writing a poem on the front of the card.
